The Turbosmart Constant Tension Hose Clamp TS-HCT-M042 is a spring-loaded clamp for hose outside diameters from 1.375" to 1.875" (35–48mm), supplied as a pack of two. This size covers the common 1.25" to 1.50" silicone hose used on heater, coolant, breather and small turbo plumbing.

Why constant tension?

Every time an engine heats up and cools down the hose and the pipe underneath expand and contract at different rates. A conventional worm-drive clamp is fixed at one diameter, so each heat cycle leaves it a little looser – which is why hoses that were tight when fitted start to seep or blow off months later. A constant tension clamp keeps a spring-loaded load on the hose at all times, taking up that movement so the joint stays sealed through thousands of heat cycles without re-tightening.

Turbosmart features

  • Convoluted dual spring-action outer band – maintains clamping load as the hose and pipe expand and contract.
  • Dual-bead inner shell – spreads the load evenly around the hose for a leak-free seal without a pressure point.
  • Flanged edges – protect the hose from being cut or damaged under load.
  • Fits a 5/16" socket or flat-blade screwdriver; tighten to 5.6 Nm (50 in-lb).
  • Sold as a pack of 2.

Suits Turbosmart silicone hose

Matches the outside diameter of Turbosmart's 1.25" and 1.50" silicone hose, including the 1.25" 45° elbow, 1.25" 90° elbow and 1.50" 90° elbow, plus the matching ends of the 1.25" to 1.75", 1.50" to 1.75" and 1.50" to 2.00" reducers. Always measure the hose outside diameter (not the pipe) when choosing a clamp size.
