The Turbosmart vIWG Vacuum-Operated Wastegate Actuator is a bolt-on upgrade designed for the factory turbo system used on BMW’s 2.0L N20 turbocharged engine. It improves boost control, response, and consistency across the full RPM range compared to the OEM actuator.

This upgrade increases the working ratio by using a larger diaphragm surface area and revised internal spring calibration. This provides greater mechanical leverage against boost pressure and exhaust backpressure while maintaining smooth, precise actuator movement.

With factory base pressure, the result is faster turbo spool, a stronger and more usable mid-range torque curve, and improved boost holding at higher RPM. Higher boost configurations can further enhance performance, but ECU tuning and recalibration is recommended for optimal results.
