Warranties

Last updated: 20 May 2026

All products supplied by Sydney Performance Parts & Tyres come with two layers of protection: the manufacturer's warranty and the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

Australian Consumer Law guarantees

Under the ACL, products must be of acceptable quality, match their description, be fit for any disclosed purpose, and arrive on time. These guarantees apply regardless of any manufacturer warranty period and cannot be excluded.

Manufacturer warranties

Warranty periods vary by brand and product:

  • Most electrical products (ECUs, sensors, gauges): 12 months
  • Suspension (coilovers, sway bars): 12–24 months depending on brand
  • Brake hardware (calipers, rotors): 12 months (consumables such as pads and lines excluded)
  • Forced induction (turbochargers, intercoolers): 12 months, void if run beyond rated boost
  • Exhaust systems: 12 months on welds and materials
  • Wheels and tyres: per manufacturer's published warranty

Exact terms appear on the product page or are supplied with the item. If unsure, ask before purchase.

What voids warranty

The manufacturer's warranty is typically void where the part has been:

  • fitted incorrectly or by an unqualified person where the manufacturer requires professional fitment;
  • used in motorsport or competition when sold for road use only;
  • modified, drilled, or repainted;
  • damaged through accident, neglect, or use outside its rated specification (boost, RPM, load, temperature);
  • operated with associated parts that are faulty or out of spec (e.g. a turbo run with restricted oil feed).

Voiding the manufacturer warranty does not affect your ACL rights for a major failure.

Making a warranty claim

  1. Email sales@sydneyperformance.com.au with your order number, a description of the fault, and photos or video where possible.
  2. Do not return the item until we issue a Return Authorisation (RA) — unauthorised returns may be refused.
  3. We assess the claim, liaise with the manufacturer where required, and arrange repair, replacement or refund.
  4. Typical assessment time is 5–15 business days. We will keep you updated.

Freight on warranty claims

If the goods have a major failure, we cover return freight. For minor faults under the ACL the carrier may be chosen by us. Manufacturer-led warranty claims for items fitted overseas may take longer.
