Genuine replacement diaphragm for the GFB FX-S regulator

The GFB 8156 is the genuine replacement diaphragm for GFB's FX-S fuel pressure regulator. GFB regulators are designed to be fully serviceable, so instead of replacing the whole unit when the diaphragm ages, you can fit a new diaphragm and restore the regulator to as-new operation.

Fits

Not for the FX-R or FX-D regulators – those use the larger GFB-8166 diaphragm.

When to replace the diaphragm

  • Fuel pressure that creeps, hunts or won't hold a steady setting
  • Fuel weeping from the vacuum/boost reference port (a sure sign the diaphragm has failed)
  • Pressure that no longer rises 1:1 with boost
  • Preventative replacement after a fuel-type change (e.g. moving to E85) or on a high-mileage regulator

Installation

Depressurise the fuel system, remove the regulator cap, swap the diaphragm and reassemble. Check for leaks and reset base fuel pressure before driving. Professional installation recommended.
